Transportation bill includes road repair money for towns

BOSTON – A transportation bond bill that recently passed the State Senate and is heading for the House includes road repair money for several local towns.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Bonding, Capital Expenditures and State Assets Brian A. Joyce and Senator Thomas Kennedy announced this week that the $1.5 billion bill will fund transportation-related projects throughout the state for Fiscal Year 2013.

The bill includes $736,460 for Easton, $186,124 for Avon and $319,132 for West Bridgewater, Joyce said in a press release.

“This investment in state road, bridge, and rail transportation projects is important for our continued commercial vitality and economic recovery, and the Chapter 90 funds will provide for much needed repairs to local roads throughout the state,” said Joyce.
